CRABBY ALERT!

I am not saying Post hoc ergo propter hoc, but… you decide.

“DANGER! CRABBY LIBERALS! DANGER!”

There was a photo on Astronomy Pic of the Day:

Crab Nebula

Just before the release of Universae Ecclesiae there was a flare from the

Crab Nebula.

This flare may have struck earth with possibly full force in London.  It’s apparent.  My calculations, based on what I learned from dealing with a dangerous and portentous Vortex in Kansas City, suggest an upsurge of sheer crabbiness right here:

The Tablet

Additional research confirms that this is the location of the offices of The Tablet, yes… The Bitter Pill, the crabbiest catholic publication in England.

“But Father! But Father!”, some of you will be asking aloud.  “Can you tell they became crabbier … crabbier than usual?  They are pretty crabby all the time!  You are too clerical.”

You’ve got me there.  That is the weakness in my argument and I admit it.  Call it a clerical error.

Make liberals even crabbier!  Send money to Fr. Z because of what they write.

Yes, the clericalism is running rampant, wreaking havoc. I refer you to the May 6 mystery crater of suburban Basking Ridge, NJ! My son was just reading aloud from, well, actually the combox upended to the CBSNY account: “Something came out of the ground relatively slowly…get ready, there’s at least one of ’em.” Run for the hills! Attack of the underground clericalists! Don’t say the bitter pill didn’t warn you…

    Fr. Z,

Is there such a thing as a Crabby Conservative Alert? I think the Bitter Pill is so crabby that it’s made you crabby too! Despite blog crabbiness, I am still be a loyal, steadfast fan (but maybe you can turn down the crabby heat a little?) – just kidding.

BTW, I pray for you and the priests in my parish everyday. You didn’t include a comment box for the priest and stupid things post so I thought I would add that here.

  3. EWTN: Oh yes, there are crabby conservatives. There sure are.

There is a faction among traditionalists, as a matter of fact, whom I classify amongst the “Happy Only When Unhappy”.

But most traditionalists are always good-natured, ever-cheerful, kind, sensible, slow to be angered, pleasant, patient, gifted with a sense of humor.

Not so the liberal, not so. They are so very crabby.

Sorry, I meant to say that the Bitter Pill is so crappy that it has made you crabby… (I think I better invest in some glasses!)

I have a number of friends and relations at our local FSSP parish. When the choir isn’t needed, we attend the EF there.
Really I haven’t run into any of the “only happy when unhappy” crowd there. My cousin and her husband are a joy, and their friends that I have met in the parish are friendly, welcoming, interesting to talk to, kind to my children and a pleasure to be around. Even the ladies serving the coffee were friendly (and that’s a job that can make anybody crabby!)
And that’s coming from a retread Episcopalian who generally attends the OF!

I agree Fr. Z, and understand your point. Fortunately, I do not know any traditionalists who fall into the “happy only when unhappy” category.

In addition to being “good-natured, ever-cheerful, sensible, slow to be angered, pleasant, patient, gifted with a sense of humor”, I believe traditionalists tend to be highly intelligent, extremely talented, and have huge hearts. Many are excellent role models with vision to tap and mold potential in others. They are also forgiving and willing to give benefit of doubt.

I am extremely privileged to know several traditionalists for whom I consider good friends.
