    Only Black’s pawn on g7 can move, and it doesn’t matter whether Black plays it to g6 or uses it to capture the Rook:

    2. Qa1 mate

    Took just over two minutes (wasted time analyzing Knight and pawn moves).

    1. Rh6, then black can only move the g7 pawn to g6, or to capture the rook at h6, then:
    2. Qa1#

  4. This is the Church of St. Lucy (Santa Lucia) on the Via di Monserrato just up the street a bit from the apartment I have used in Rome for a while.

  5. Right! Rh6. That drives black into Zugzwang which provides an opening for the coup de grace.
