You remember the “Birettas for Seminarians” Project? It’s dormant now, I think. Dunno.
That said, this came in today from a concerned cleric.
Synodal [“Walking Together”] fuss brings to light the terrible problem of underdressed Vatican Monsignors. Please, let’s try to get them something decent to wear.
Find photos attached.
Asking for a blessing and greetings from Slovenia.

Yes, this is bad. Protonotaries with ball caps. Mala tempora currunt.
First, say a prayer for Father, as requested.
Next, say a prayer that I, the undersigned, be made a Monsignor so that I don’t just preach at these under-dressed, indecorous prelates from color-deficient clerical clothing. No, it would help if I were a Monsignor so that I could address them with kind fraternal authority. Protonotary would be nice. Thanks in advance.
Meanwhile, Reverend Gentlemen, for the love of all that is good, true and beautiful: have some dignity!
Decorum!
Mala tempora currunt.
Sed peiora parantur!

A baseball hat on a bishop? Make is a Cubs hat, and I will approve.
Danteewoo, I would have said Angels. With WTF I would have to say Dodgers.
Cicero’s phrase just screams episcopal motto.
The baseball cap worn sideways takes this to a whole new level of cringe.
If a bishop it should not be a STL hat.
But I thought only the Pope could wear white baseball caps?
Who’s on first? I dunno, ….
Father Frater. Brother Who?
Third base.
It’s almost comical if it wasn’t so real.
It is liturgically correct though. The peak is dextral rather than sinstral!!
Reminds me of Biden wearing baseball hats.
I would say that the “Bitettas for Seminarians” project is pretty dormant. I put name in when I was in 2nd Philosophy in 2017, and I am now two months away from being ordained a deacon without having heard back at all.
*Birettas.
Ah well, I suppose my sloppy typo proves my lack of merit.
The grey/black cap in the foreground is clearly photoshopped, [I disagree] but the white one looks pretty legit…legit as in awful. At least he self-identifies himself as a liturgical loon…kind a like a Jesuit in a polo or a religious in a polyester suit.
