And since we are into different languages today, I received two PDFs this morning of a long lost book from 1998 by the present Prefect of the DDF. It is called in Spanish La Pasión Mística: espiritualidad y sensualidad. and it is … vile. It is essentially a pornographic interpretation of mystics and their experiences. I read a couple paragraphs, then scanned a little, and then stopped. It was revolting in the extreme. I think you will be hearing a lot about this. However, exercise caution if excerpts are published. Seriously. That said, you might have to wait because the Jesuits will probably have brought down the servers in their attempts to download them.

So, I read the most offensive chapters, being a glutton for punishment. TBH – it’s a horrid read, initially because it is so prima facie poorly written. As a work on mysticism, it’s abysmal. As porn, it’s woefully inadequate, and would be laughable if the subject matter were not so serious a thing. It’s an affront to God, to the Church’s true mystics, and a blasphemy.
What really is annoying is that the Church has gone from the inspired theological genius of Ratzinger to barely intelligible nonsense such as this. Compared to any work of his or Cardinal Sarah, it’s just embarrassing. What a complete lightweight; what an offense to the Faith.
I continue to come back to Fulton Sheen’s Ape of the Church, and his belief (along with others) that the Bride of Christ must suffer as Christ suffered. This is yet another wound to the Mystical Body.

The little bits posted on Twitter by Damian Thompson of the Spectator are definitely vile and pornographic. Utterly sickening. Some think this means the Prefect will have to be sacked; others, that everyone will simply shrug and carry on…
It’s a good thing. Sunlight, and all that. Personally, I won’t read it, as I detest pornography. I saw enough to get a sense of what he’s saying. Men like this have absolutely no business being ordained. None. It is a black mark on whoever ordained this embarrassment. To have him at the highest levels is the most abhorrent reality as it tells everyone why the church is so dysfunctional today. These are our “leaders”. If the power brokers in the church want to maintain any credibility, they must jettison Touchy and do something to limit Francis. The hour is late, the church is beaten and bleeding already. If they won’t do that for God, for the faith, for the church, for the suffering flock, they might want to do that for themselves. There are some bishops taking a stand over FS. After this shameful episode, there needs to be more doing the same. Clearly these disordered men are dismantling the church and remaking it in their offensive image. This book/pamphlet, reveals how deeply disturbed these men are. Truly are they all like that? We begin to wonder.
This does lead to an interesting question posed, what is the responsibility of the Swiss Guard to protect the Holy See from such situations as we have now, an obvious and direct attack on the faith.
Brilliant timing by whoever released the Tucho book. Not right before or after Tucho’s appointment, no. Whoever it was wisely waited until Tucho had delivered the goods that had been promised. The timing provided a perfect booster shot to the uproar over Fiducia Supplicans.

Decades ago, when I used to ride public transportation in a major metropolitan area, I’d kill time on the journey by picking up one of the free “alternative” local tabloid newspapers. Such rags inevitably featured a “sex columnist” who purportedly answered cheesy, smutty questions with cheesy, smutty answers. If someone had told me then that one of those columnists (or their ilk) would eventually succeed Ratzinger as top man at the Holy Office, I’d have wondered where they bought their psychedelic drugs.

Read the naughty parts. It reads more like a manual written by a feminist for bored housewives. How would this man know anything about the subject matter? I’d rather have Jesus be described as Mel Brooks rather than his thighs being like two columns. Why is this man a priest?
