Regina Magazine has produced a film about the plight of the faithful in the Diocese of Charlotte, where the local bishop has conducted what amounts to a pogrom against those who desire traditional expressions of their Catholic Faith.

The film, “removes the polemics and simply shows real people, with real names and faces who are suffering”.

This film touches on so many themes which we’ve explored on this blog for… decades, now. It’s as if this blog wrote the story board about the knock on effects of the Traditional Latin Mass on priests and the faithful.

Reverence
Silence
Ad orientem
A birthright stolen
Conversions to the Church
Priests not the same after learning the TLM
Going deeper
Processions
Unity of groups in Latin
Sense of peace
Young people, families
Vocations
Disruption caused by suppression
Heartbreak

The conclusion brought tears to my eyes.

We express our concern over a loss in Eucharistic belief and reverence, and yet we have Prelates in SC here and later in Michigan who can stomp the soles of their shoes on the necks of those who DO believe?

Yes, He always becomes present when a priest validly consecrates a small bit of unloved bread and some wine, but we are physical as well as spiritual beings and, for that, beauty, in what we and see and hear around us — like it or not– comes with that true experience and makes us more aware, totally, of His Presence, He Who is Beauty itself.

Barring the Lord coming back (which we can’t entirely discount as a possibility), it seems like Leo is the only one who can end this madness. The buck stops with him. He’s been given all the information in English-speaking Church news outlets. He’s been given counsel by Cardinal Burke. It’s time to end this.

  4. Ave Maria says:

We are up for a new archbishop soon and are concerned. Will we also get a destroyer?

  5. My wife and I watched this last night. I am really curious to see how the bishop will respond. How could anyone see this and not be moved? Arguments against the TLM say it is “divisive,” but it is moves by bishops like the one in Charlotte that cause division. Immediately afterwards we watched the latest from Fr. McTeigue about how grief is killing men, and his insights reflect perfectly what the men were saying in Charlotte. That also led me to ponder something: the traditional priests I know are obviously male and one could imagine them heading families as husbands and fathers; sadly, too many NO priests I meet I can’t say that about them and so it doesn’t seem that they have sacrificed anything to enter the priesthood.
