Mother of Mercy, pray for America.

I understand that Charlie would sometimes attend daily Mass in Phoenix with his wife.
    I’m assuming she was Catholic.

  3. Benedict Joseph says:

Thank you for sharing this Father. He was an astonishing young man. I have no doubt we will be learning more of depth devotion to Our Lord in the coming weeks.

  4. Chiara says:

He was so right, Father. Mary is indeed the solution to “toxic femininity” – and, with St. Joseph, the defender of genuine masculinity.

To monstrance – Mrs. Kirk was a devout Catholic. I assume it was due to her good influence that he attended Mass, and I expect their two lovely young children are also Catholic.

Such a great loss. CK could have been the next Scott Hahn as an influencer for reason in American society.

When anyone is murdered, there are far more than one victim. In the case of the poor children of Annunciation School (which was the name of my own grade school), it was their classmates, their parents, their siblings, their grandparents, and everyone else who loved them. For CK, it is his beloved wife, his children, his parents, and all the 20-something generation who looked to him for reason in an increasingly illogical and hate filled world.

May Jesus meet him with open arms at the gates of heaven. Peace to all here.

    Correction:
Charlie Kirk’s wife is not Catholic. She is studying for a Doctorate at Liberty University.

  6. Chiara says:

Monstrance – according to the Saint Louis Catholic page, Mrs. Kirk is indeed a Catholic. Peace.

  7. monstrance says:

    Chiara,
    Thank you for the correction.

With all due respect, I read part of the National Catholic Register today. There was an article about Charlie Kirk’s wife. Her name is Erika Frantzve and she went to high school in Arizona (that may be why the Kirk’s made their home there). She played basketball and she is a practicing Catholic. The congregation at her parish came together Wednesday night for a prayer vigil.

FWIW – many Catholics matriculate at a variety of universities. I got my degree from a state college (and the Newman Center there was helpful).

    hwriggles4,
I mentioned Liberty University because it is a loud and proud Protestant school. Her field of study was Christian Leadership.
It seems like the Kirks were in search mode. This is common in the early years of mixed faith marriages.
There were hints lately of them both moving toward the Church.
