The bishops of Charlotte, Detroit and Monterey/Austin are snuffing people out, but…
BREAKING: a Solemn High Mass in the Extraordinary Form was offered today for the Feast of St. Michael the Archangel at the altar of St. Michael in St. Peter's Basilica. The first time in years that a TLM has been offered here.

It appears that some are more (or less?) Catholic than the pope by forbidding what he allows. Food for thought!
Hurray! This is truly interesting. Suddenly, a Solemn High TLM in St. Peter’s? (And look at all the chairs set up at the side altar.) What can this mean? Who sponsored it? Why now? Did the Holy Father tell the Archpriest to allow it? Is this a message being sent to the bishops? Is this a hint that change is coming, that TC will be modified or abrogated? This is quite a jolt. One can hope!
That is beautiful!
What group arranged this? Great to see. Awesome news!
I imagine a few American bishops have their undies in a bunch at this disobedience to TC.
This might sound strange but I’m afraid this might be a bad sign. I fear Leo will not contradict Francis, rather he will allow TLM’s in Rome as an example but will not actually suppress TC or censure Bishops that enforce it.
Rather he will try to demonstrate that TC is no longer in force by allowing TLMs in his Diocese of Rome. But I don’t think he is ever going to censure another Bishop who is enforcing TC as this would open the door for that bishop to publicly raise the question “Well then is TC still in effect or is it not?”
This sort of reporting is not very helpful. This solemn Mass took place on St Michael’s feats in 2023 and 2024. See reports both years in messainlatino.it This implied negativity and sense of persecution is just what Trads are accused of. If it’s not true, as here, it just makes matter worse.
