Pray for Charlie Kirk – Mass for him at 1700 EDT – UPDATED – Requiem

UPDATE 18:15:

And when I got back to my computer after Mass, I saw that a friend had sent this.

UPDATE 16:45:

I learned that Charlie Kirk has died from his wound.   I will say a Requiem for him in about 10 minutes.

At the top of this hour I will say my streamed Mass for Charlie Kirk (25 minutes from now 1700 EDT).  Unless I hear otherwise before that, I use the Votive for the Sick.

Pray for Charlie Kirk

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.  Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

Requiem æternam dona ei, Domine. Et lux perpetua luceat ei: Requiescat in pace. Amen.

Thank you for that Fr Z. If we had the opportunity we would have gone to the livestream. If only our local churches offered such consolations today. We’ll have to wait for Climate Day or something important like that.
Sweet Mother of God, its almost too much to bear.

  4. Matthew says:

Thank you for offering the requiem Mass for him Father. It is important.

I’ve read Kirk attended the local Catholic church with his wife. I haven’t seen that confirmed though. But someone clued him in on Mary. Mary as the answer to toxic femininity is gold.

God must’ve been exceedingly pleased that Kirk spoke of Mary that way.

I’m so glad you and other priests said masses for him. This morning I asked for masses at church for his soul, and for his wife and family. May God reward him for all that he has done. R.I.P.

Let us also pray for his assailant, that he might realise the errors of his ways, take responsibility for his actions, and seek forgiveness in this life before he answers for them in the next. Can we invoke St Dismas, the penitent thief, in situations like this?

  8. Perhaps also Bl. Bartolo Longo, a former satanic priest, and perhaps also Alessandro Serenelli. Although Serenelli has not been beatified, I think his cause has been opened. If there were ever a killer who exemplifies conversion, it would be he.

  9. ReadingLad says:

Thank you Father – after you mentioned him, I read that Bl Bartolo is to be canonized next month. Thank you also for suggesting Serenelli, the parallels are indeed clear.
