    I’m not surprised. They never say they’re sorry. They never get called to account. When you catch them, they just snear and say, “So, what do you want?” and they go right on doing what they were doing. Treatment like that creates wounds. What do you do with a wound of the soul? The pain … the grief … the disappointment … it has to go somewhere. Sure some of this is enemies of the Church, but not all of it I bet. I’m sure of few of them were her children. Who could blame them?

    This doesn’t even include Canada where churches continue to be burned down. Someone tried to burn down the Cathedral in my city. My parish, amongst others in the city were vandalized. The news here doesn’t report on it.

    My parish was one that suffered vandalism. Fortunately the physical damage was minimal and mass was held the day after. A retired priest that assists at our parish who is a former exorcist performed whatever is done in that instance as soon as the Sheriff left. The perpetrators were caught and successfully prosecuted.
