Too many people today are without good, strong preaching, to the detriment of all. Share the good stuff.
Was there a GOOD point made in the sermon you heard at your Mass of obligation for this Sunday, 3rd Sunday after Epiphany and in the Novus Ordo the 3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time.
Tell us about attendance especially for the Traditional Latin Mass.
Any local changes or (hopefully good) news?
A taste of what I offered at 1 Peter 5 this week:

The Epistle to the Romans reinforces this Gospel by pressing its implications into moral life. St. Paul exhorts the Romans not to repay evil with evil, but to overcome evil with good. He cites Proverbs: “If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head” (12:20) The image of heaping coals of fire on one’s enemy’s head is not a suggestion of cruelty but rather of mercy. Fire and water are the essentials of life. To provide them is to restore what exile denies. For the Romans a sentence of exile was given with a decree of aquae et ignis interdictio… privation of water and fire. You were to be denied the essentials of life precisely so that you were forced to leave the area or die. The reverse of this is how on the day of her marriage a bride would be received by her husband with fire and water, which represented that he would care for her needs. The Prophet Isaiah (47:14) presaged image. Augustine explains (Exp. Prop. Rom. 63.71) that coal kindness burns away hatred. Jerome echoes in a sermon on Ps 41.

Our vice rector neatly and seamlessly connected the history of the origin and devotion the Child Jesus to the conversion of St. Paul, and Christian Unity.
Due to the Snowmageddon moving through our area Sunday we were not able to get to our usual FSSP mass so I walked to the local NO parish which is 5 blocks away. The mass was brief with no sermon as he wanted people to get home before the snow got worse, although he did use the Roman Canon (EP1). Since this church is not in the Diocese of Charlotte kneelers were provided so one could receive communion in the proper manner.
We later watched the 10:30 mass from St. Mary FSSP in Providence RI. There are 2 healings in the Gospel one where Jesus is physically present and another (the Centurion’s servant) where the Centurion has faith that Jesus could heal without going there. We are all in need of healing, do we have faith that Jesus can heal us?
I attended a N.O. Mass on Sunday. The homily was on repentance and the gift of Confession. He told a couple of stories of life-changing Confessions (of course protecting the Seal) and encouraged people to take advantage of this gift. He ended by pleading with the people to at least go to Confession once a month. I thought that was not frequent enough until I realized many there maybe went to Confession once a year at best. (One of the many “benefits” from the so-called “spirit of Vatican II”.) Of course, having more frequent opportunities for Confession in parishes would also help. Of course, our priests are overworked as it is though.
Pray for priestly vocations! We need more good priests.
