Prayer Before Using The Internet HERE
Almighty and eternal God, who created us in Thine image and bade us to seek after all that is good, true and beautiful, especially in the divine person of Thine Only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant, we beseech Thee, that, through the intercession of Saint Isidore, Bishop and Doctor, during our journeys through the internet we will direct our hands and eyes only to that which is pleasing to Thee and treat with charity and patience all those souls whom we encounter. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Ho! Ho! Ho! To the bottle I go
To heal my heart and drown my woe.
Rain may fall and wind may blow,
And many miles be still to go.
But under a tall tree I will lie,
And let the clouds go sailing by.
I recognize this porphyry and marble statue of the Goddess Roma at the far end of the Piazza del Campidoglio (past the bronze statue of Marcus Aurelius on horseback) high above the Roman Forum. Roma is standing above a fountain that has two large personifications of the Nile and the Tiber rivers on either side of her. Behind her is the façade of the Palazzo del Senatore where the Rome government has some of its offices.
Way back when, I would traipse up Michaelangelo’s graceful steps to the Campidoglio from the Piazza Venezia as a shortcut, then down and around the Arco di Costantino to San Gregorio for Mass. One June morning it was the feast of St. Justin Martyr and I passed the statue of Marcus Aurelius, who was the emperor when Justin was executed back in 165 A.D. You can believe I gave the so-called “philosopher emperor” a piece of my mind as I went on my way!
