UPDATE: I took possession of my new washer and drier yesterday. They are installed and working. An amusing twist to this. A few days back, when I started posting about this, I made an oblique reference to a line from the dead parrot skit of Mont Python. Some of you instantly picked up on it and there ensued comments about the “Norwegian Blue”. Ironically, my new machines are… blue. They, too, do not talk.

One aspect of Samuel’s performance was particularly striking. When confronted with someone having physical, cognitive, emotional or other developmental difficulties, children can become quite cruel and abusive. Yet, look at the joyful responses Samuel received from his young audience: shouts of joy, laughter, clapping and overall amazement and delight. Our Lord has blessed Samuel with a remarkable gift indeed.
Samuel is amazing with the bird calls. How on earth is he doing that. All children are amazing and wonderful. Kids with autism or other developmental disabilities add their own brand of sunshine for the rest of us. God bless them all.
