Prayers for Bp. Slattery, Emeritus of Tulsa – Prayers Requested – ACTION ITEM!

You might remember that when the Archbishop of DC refused to allow Card. Castrillon to say a Pontifical Mass at the Shrine in DC, Bp. Slattery of Tulsa stepped into the breach and gave a MIGHTY sermon.  HERE

I received a note that Bp. Slattery is not doing well and may be nearing his final time with us in the Church Militant. Please stop and say a decade of the Rosary for him – now – or a whole Rosary if you are able.

The video of that unforgettable Mass.

We are praying for the good bishop! May reward him for his goodness and all of his suffering. He taught me that the prayers we say for others are not only good for those we are praying for but also for us!

    * May God reward him, I mean. And that was after coffee even!

Will say family rosary for him tonight. Met him in Nebraska years ago. A very personable man.

    Prayed a rosary.

All those darling little choir singers are grown and parents, priests or nuns now….

    Beautiful.

Trying to stop it is like trying to stop the tide….did you ever do that as a kid? Run up to the waves and put your hand up telling it to stop and go away and think, “Ha! Look at it run!” Only for the next wave to come crashing in with a vengeance sending you running for the safety of the shore. That’s what the modernists are doing. They think they are battling with the individual waves…..that are just going where they are compelled to. There is no battle at all just the movement of time and all things at God’s discretion. They are battling with the order of things as God set them. Futile

Our time here is short, thanks be to God!

    God bless Bishop Slattery!

  6. Within four months of this very Mass, I had to become a Catholic. The beauty of this Mass and the force of this Sermon compelled me. It wasn’t a choice any more. I had to give in to beauty, and the Beautiful One. I had to watch in secret out of fear of Protestant family. I am free to love my own patrimony now.

Pope Benedict, pray for Bishop Slattery, who prayed for you on your fifth anniversary of your pontificate.

[That was great. Thank you. I was the commentator for the telecast of that Mass and I can confirm that it was an amazing occasion. Now it is even more amazing.]

I have fond memories of him giving a retreat, many years ago. Not only is he a very holy man, but he is also a very nice man. He would go out of his way to talk to ordinary people, and would not make them feel as though there were a distance between himself and them. Many rewards are in store for him in Paradise.

His Excellency may be well-assured of my heartfelt prayers.
