This was quite enjoyable to watch. Watching the painting come down the scaffolding had me in suspense as I didn’t originally see the backside. Slid on rails it looked like. The piece is huge, how tall I wonder. Looks 20 feet in height. Also, imagine it’s worth and value. Beautiful piece. Thanks for posting.

It was while staring, well really meditating, on this painting on a couple of occasions that my vocation was confirmed.
I have a copy overooking my desk.
I pray they take care of it and return it safely.

Love that painting. Wish I knew its name so I can buy a copy of it. Can’t really find it online, probably since I don’t know its name.

To tgarcia2 the painting is Holy Trinity Adored By Angels by Guido Reni. There are many depictions online. Just google it. All the best.

Thank you Papal Count, knowing the name will help vs me googling “Santissima Trinità dei Pellegrini painting” and just seeing the above the altar pictures and not a stand alone

Breathtaking. Nail-biting, almost. If it had slipped, ripped… !!! Nah, I’m sure they knew exactly what they were doing.

Applogies if this info is already available but where and what is the exposition to which it’s going, and how long will it be gone from Ssa. Trinità? Will they hang a (suitable) cloth or veil or something in the vacated space?

I’m sure Faddah will post about it anyway.

  7. They’ve put up a beautiful reproduction, super high res on canvas with a replica of the frame… I showed it being prepared in the video. I believe I have a photo of it in place, but the light isn’t on.

    Just a sec.

Yup… this is the copy in place.
