I was sent a photo of the new chalice case for my little antique silver chalice in Rome which is kept at The Parish™. This was a surprise!

A priest of the Diocese of Fulda (Germany) has finally had enough of the jackassery of his confreres and bishops. He issued a letter saying that he no longer wants to be associated with them. It’s quite something. HERE
Too bad he didn’t leave any bank accounts with interest…

I think what the Archbishop of Detroit did to Ralph Martin needs to be well known. Have you seen any of Ralph Martins videos?
Dr. Ralph Martin issues statement on his abrupt firing from Sacred Heart Seminary. Excerpt:
“Yesterday, Archbishop Weisenburger told me that he was terminating my position at the seminary effective immediately. When I asked him for an explanation, he said he didn’t think it… pic.twitter.com/fDBZFsI8nH

Grrrr… I know this church. Something must be done about Eurabia.
Another Catholic church, Notre-Dame-des-Champs in Paris, has been targeted in an arson attack.

NB: I’ll hold comments with solutions ’till the next day so there won’t be “spoilers” for others.

Hey Fathers! How about a clerical Guayabera shirt for the hot summer days? I have one. Super practical and cooler in more ways than one. All sorts of lay clothes and hats, too.
Our Price: $70 (there are different kinds)

a few weeks ago i came across a book by the guy who started that mitochondrial dna research. it was interesting at first, then he inserted dopey contemporary politics.
on a brighter note, i was just looking at websites of nearby parishes to find practical times for confession on a busy weekend and saw that one is starting a schola next month! that’s now four parishes with scholae less than an hour’s drive from my dwelling – and two of those are more like half an hour. very grateful!
Regarding the German Priest’s excellent letter, I assume that he’s saying only that he won’t publicly “identify” with his diocese and not that he’s rejecting his Bishop or his authority, because if he rejected his Bishop he’d be as bad as the clerics he criticizes.
Regarding a church establishing a “schola,” I’m visiting a relative in Buford, Georgia, and a nearby large Catholic church has what I would describe as a “Praise Band” that plays at Mass. Is that the same thing?
The German’s priest letter was all too true. I had to write this line down for future use: “The first ‘Pride Parade’ was, as we know, the expulsion of mankind from Paradise.”?? God love all the remaining faithful in Germany.
@L absolutely not! a schola sings Gregorian chant and polyphonic pieces which St Pius X said should have pride of place in liturgy. the four mentioned scholae chant the original Latin texts. i also know of two parishes that from time to time do a hybrid where they chant English translations of Latin texts – well 20% of something beats 100% of nothing i guess.
Father Abel is not pulling punches. At least in the English translation, he just stops short of breaking his bonds with his bishop, which I think is sensible.
